Welcoming our new altar servers
Six children were commissioned as altar servers at the 11am Mass on Sunday, the largest group we have taken on in some years.
Eliza, Josef, Marta, Sean, Aoife and Thomas were commissioned by Fr Michael at the 11am Mass, having spent the last two months in training with Deacon Peter on Saturday mornings.
They join a team of nine, which means for the first time in several years we can cover both Sunday Masses and the major feasts without anyone being asked to serve three weeks running.
Serving is open to any child who has made their First Holy Communion. If yours is interested, speak to Deacon Peter after any Mass. There is no rush and no obligation, and children are welcome to come and watch for a few weeks first.
Our thanks to Margaret Hollis, who has looked after the servers for eleven years and is standing down in the autumn. Anyone willing to take that on should speak to Fr Michael.
